As a nationally accredited nonprofit organization Fauntleroy Children’s Center (FCC) is a dedicated to serving the community and families of the greater West Seattle area. Further, we offer high quality childcare in an educational environment. Our skilled, professional staff provides a secure, stable, and diverse environment. FCC’s mission is to work in collaboration with the families we serve and the community. We do this by striving to enrich each child’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth. Our curriculum is based on the award-winning Creative Curriculum® for Preschool. This curriculum incorporates assessment using Teaching Strategies GOLD®, the most widely used early childhood assessment system in the country. The assessment system is aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of children’s development and learning from birth through kindergarten.
Designed to facilitate children mastering Creative Curriculum® development objectives, our classrooms feature learning centers and play areas such as: science/sensory, blocks/pre-math, literacy, dramatic play, manipulative and hand-eye coordination, and creative art. These areas are utilized for both self-directed and teacher-initiated activities each day.
